The invasive animals devastated South Georgia's bird population and even threatening the endemic to the remote island. For this phase to happen they had helicopters drop poison bait on the islands. In which they finished the first phase in just 28 days.Then on the second phase they dropped about 157 metric tons of poison on the island once again. As of now, there has been no detection of any rodents. Every six months they have a highly trained sniffer dog go out and sniff for any rodents.
