They found the turtle when they were in a 68 day mission in Eastern Pacific. Mark Kerbs the Pursuit Mission Commander arrived on the scene and noticed the turtle right away. When they saw the turtle they saw chaffing around his neck and flippers from the lines. The boat crew worked for long hours in order to help the sea turtle be free once again. At the same time they were able to seize about 1,800 pounds of cocaine The cutter crew was part of Operation Martillo that targeted criminal organizations involving 18 countries.
